We are excited to announce that at this year’s New York Wine & Food Classic, held in Watkins Glen, August 11 - 13, Raymor Estate Cellars won awards for every wine we entered
These prestigious honors mean a lot to us. Our small, boutique winery can produce top-notch wines that stack up among some of the great wineries in NY State.
Known as "The Oscars of NY" The New York Wine & Food Classic is sponsored by the New York Wine & Grape Foundation and is only open to NY State wineries. We only enter this competition and the Finger Lakes International Wine Competition because at Raymor Estate Cellars, our concern is with our local customers.
Competition this year included 835 New York wines, 20 hard ciders and 8 spirits from across NY State including Long Island, Hudson Valley, Finger Lakes, Niagara Escarpment and Lake Erie.
Awards were based on blind tastings by 22 expert judges including four from California, ten from New York, seven from other states and even a judge from France. Judges included prominent wine writers, restaurateurs, retailers and wine educators.
Our Seyval Blanc and Autumn Harvest won Double Gold, which required a unanimous vote. The entire panel of wine experts had to agree, in their own professional opinion, that each wine deserved a gold medal. I’m sure you can imagine our excitement when we found out that two of our wines received this top honor.
Noiret and Cellar White were awarded a Silver and Bronze medal, which is also an exciting achievement for us.
We put a lot of work into crafting unique wines to satisfy all of our customers and to provide an unforgettable taste. Raymor Estate Cellars has only been in operation for a few short years. When we decided to start entering competitions, it was just sort of a “gee, let’s see where we stack up. I wonder of we could possibly win something.” We never expected these kinds of results, but we’re truly excited that we can attend our events and share some award winning wines with some of our most valued customers – All of you.
Thanks for supporting us at Raymor Estate Cellars, and thanks for supporting local businesses and organizations.
We’ll see you at the market or the next great event! Be sure to continue checking our locations page to see where we will be tasting.
